Government Agency seeking APS6 FOI Decision Maker

**Your new company**
This Branch manages the relationship between the Agency and the Ministers Officer. It supports the Agency in meeting the Minister's objectives and priorities by providing timely objective and strategic advice. The branch ensures the Agency are meeting their obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) and for the Participant Information Access (PIA) Scheme.

**Your new role**
Under limited direction, assist the team in the coordination of FOI requests made to the Agency and will ensure the Agency meets legal obligations in relation to the Freedom Of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act).
The role will assist the team with Participant Information Access (PIA) requests made to the agency and will ensure the Agency meets its KPIs in relation to the PIA requests. The role will be a delegated FOI and PIA delegated decision-maker and will make robust FOI and PIA decisions.

The APS6 FOI Delegate will perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team. It will also contribute to the development of the Agency's information handling requests.

The position, under limited supervision, will manage relationships with stakeholders within the Agency, Government Agencies, the Ministers office and the Office of the Information Commissioner

The APS5 FOI Officer will provide quality assurance checks, training, advice and guidance to the team on a ongoing basis and as required, as well as operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge areas. You may undertake some research and analysis activities.

The role will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate and provide on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex problems.
