
Disability Support Worker

The job of a Lifestyle Support Worker is to provide high-quality care to all participants under Prydes Support. This includes but is not limited to, providing support to participants with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, understanding and providing appropriate care to participants with low needs to participants with high needs who demonstrate a range of challenging behaviours, assisting with activities relating to daily living, community support, and empowerment, and working under the general guidance from the person seeking support, and their family within clearly defined guidelines.
Approx 10 hrs per week with the prospect of increasing.

**Qualifications & experience**
Must have successfully completed/willing to obtain a cert III or IV in Disability/Individual Support or equivalent
Experience working within the disability sector
Experience with ASD & Mental Health (preferred)
Have a current Blue card (or willing to obtain)
Have a current NDIS Support Worker Check/Yellow card (or willing to obtain)
CPR & First Aid (or willing to obtain)
National Police Check (or willing to obtain)
Residency documentation
NDIS Orientation Module
Must have a valid driver's licence
Registered and road-worthy car with comprehensive insurance (or willing to obtain)
Prydes Support is happy to assist you to obtain the necessary checks for the right applicant.
**Highly Sought after Skills and Experience**
Ability to work independently & within a team environment
Good time management
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Problem-solving skills
Reliable
Cert IV in Mental Health or Alchohol & Other Drugs desirable, (although not necessary)
**Tasks & responsibilities**
Daily Activities including showering, toileting and dressing
Shopping & meal preparation
Community Access
Group activities/ support groups
Accompanying participants to doctor's appointments

Casual employment base rate from $34 per hour (above award) plus penalty rates & fuel allowance
