Role Introduction

This role acts as an expert in recruitment and the Cathay selection processes, tools and techniques and have a strong ability to support line managers through the recruitment and selection process. Supports the ongoing employee experience ensuring internal pathways for succession, career planning and workforce forecasting are embedded. Actively reviews our employer offering to ensure competitiveness and alignment to our employee value proposition.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Attraction and Employer Branding
- Assist on the development and implementation of the regional talent acquisition and employer branding strategy
- Proactively build relationships with relevant stakeholders that strengthen Cathay’s employer branding in the region to attract the best talent
- Responsible in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and processes related to sourcing, recruiting, selection, promotion, transfer and on-boarding aligned to region and Head Office overall People strategy.
- Work closely with Manager to leverage recruitment channels and improve sourcing effectiveness

Recruitment and Selection Process Excellence
- Manage the end to end recruitment and selection processes from discussing requirements with hiring managers and developing commercially focused, brand enhancing initiatives, job advertisement creation, sourcing, screening, selecting, offer and onboarding.
- Effectively prioritise different roles and ensure that time to fill is measured and optimised.
- Ensure all background checks are conducted in a compliant manner.
- Lead the offer process, including salary negotiation.
- Issue and collect company property as required as well as conduct effective onboarding and off-boarding processes

High Performance Culture & Performance and Rewards
- Collaborate closely with Regional Head of People, SWP to review employees’ compensation details to ensure alignment to market.
- Working closely with the PPL team internally, translates complex frameworks and concepts to stakeholders and teams to ensure principles are well understood to drive a pay for performance culture

Business Partnership
- Ensure that the onboarding process is delivered in the local context to bring the Cathay brand to life
- Handle HR enquiries and conduct follow up actions and investigation when required. Actions such as but not limited to policy clarification and general HR related matters
- Equip business leaders with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage and develop their people and provide proactive guidance and counsel on people related issues
- Support People Manager on complex interpretation of policy and procedures, or HR projects which need defining and designing new process and procedures
- Participate in the creation and upholding of good HR practices and systems to continuously enhance employee experience

Occupational Health and Safety
- Investigate new potential workers compensation claims, authorize and arrange medical treatment, develop defences if claim is heading for litigation
- Communicate with injured worker, supervisors, PPL team and Labour Department regarding benefits, doctor appointments, off work, restricted work and return to work
- Coordinate ergonomic evaluations with vendors and injured worker

E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required

**Requirements**:

- A tertiary degree in Human Resources or a related field is an advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in recruitment and selection processes in a cross-country environment
- Airline experience is an advantage
- Strong cultural sensitivity with high cross cultural communication ability
- Demonstrably good judgment and ability to remain impartial
- Knowledge of legislation related to recruitment and selection
- Knowledge of compensation and benefits concepts and frameworks
- Strong customer service orientation
- Efficient and able to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management ability
- Continuous improvement mindset
- A high degree of technological ability
