This is the role for you

We are currently looking for multiple Student Guides to join our Engineering Services business, based in Melbourne on a casual basis.

Working with Australia’s top ranked University (University of Melbourne), our Engineering Services division offers multi-disciplinary professional engineering and technical services to academia and their students. As the engineering and technical service provider for Melbourne School of Engineering’s Telstra Creator Space, QinetiQ has a key role in developing the next generation of Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians. The Telstra Creator Space is part of Australia’s newest innovation hub at Melbourne Connect in Parkville and will be a focal point for engineering and IT students of all disciplines.

**As Student Guide your responsibilities will include**:
Provide support to, and supervise safe operations by, Telstra Creator Space users
Ensure a user-centred, safe and efficient Telstra Creator Space experience for all users
Welcome and direct users to relevant work areas of the Telstra Creator Space
Liaise with Science Gallery Melbourne on use of the Telstra Creator Space
Contribute to Telstra Creator Space events & projects that improve student engagement and experience
Administer training and quality management records and notifications
Assist with the scheduling and operations of the Telstra Creator Space
Collate service performance data from a variety of sources

To be successful in the role of Student Guide you will need to bring with you:
Strong desire to mentor students and makers in a prototyping environment
Be undergoing relevant tertiary education at UoM - (Bachelor of Science or Design, Masters of Engineering or IT) with majors in either, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, software engineering, computing sciences or visual arts
Strong organisational skills and a structured approach to work
Curiosity in engineering and technical skills

To align with the opening hours of Telstra Creator Space, shifts will be rostered between 10am - 7pm Monday to Friday
