**Assistant Gardener/Mower Operator - Bayside City Council**

Depot Location - Kilpa Road, Moorabbin

Citywide is recruiting for an Assistant Gardener/Mower Operator to work on our Bayside City Council contract. This role involves day to day maintenance of parks, gardens and landscape features (i.e. ponds, bluestone retaining walls, boardwalks etc.), maintenance and installation of non-horticultural space assets (i.e. playgrounds, park benches, sail shades etc.) as well as Mower Operation (Zero Turn & Front Deck).
- Full-time **Monday to Friday** (with weekend overtime available - dependent on the volume of work)
- Attractive working hours - **6.45 am to 2.51 pm**

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Maintenance, installation and repair of parks, sports facilities, landscape features and community facilities
- Maintenance of large and small open space grass parks with mowers and other horticultural machinery
- Detailing, litter removal, weed control, playground soft fall maintenance, irrigation maintenance, machinery use and maintenance
- Undertake and record daily worksite assessments. (Onsite audit checklist, HAC sheets, Quality of works & OH&S compliance).
- Ensure work is carried out in a safe and professional manner
- Ensure vehicles and worksite are maintained to a high standard

**Skills and qualifications required**:
**Mandatory**
- Experience in operation of front deck mowers and zero turn mowers
- General Horticulture experience
- Must be team orientated, highly motivated and able to follow instructions however must also be able to work autonomously
- Knowledge and appreciation of OH&S
- Current Victorian Driver’s license
- Working with Children Check

**Desirable**
- Manual Driver's License
- Medium Rigid Driver License
- Flexibility to work overtime including weekends
- Traffic Management experience
- Chemical Certificate
- Disease and Pest Control Identification Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
