**About Home and Ambulatory Services Administration**
- Home and Ambulatory Services comprises of the following services:
- The Ambulatory Care Centre
- situated on Level 3 of the Austin Hospital Tower, incorporates Elective Admissions, Day Treatment Centre and Transit Lounge Ambulatory Care Centre is a new approach towards caring for acute and chronic medical and surgical patients in a day procedure area
- Hospital in the Home/ Cardiac Hospital in the Home
- facilitates the shift of traditional acute care services from the Hospital to the patient’s own home.
- All services within Home and Ambulatory Services are committed to utilising best practice principles to achieve quality customer service.
**About the role**
- This role provides administrative support to the Home and Ambulatory Services Administration department. You will work in a dynamic working environment and undertake a variety of roles and responsibilities. This is an on-going, part time role working 32 hours per week.
- A regular day will see you:
- Register patients in the hospital Trakcare & Cerner systems, ensuring all demographic details are accurate and updated
- Notify patients of cancelled or deferred appointments
- Send out correspondence to patients regarding upcoming appointments
- Generate and send reminder text messages for appointments
- Adapt to changes in work location on short notice due to patient numbers and staffing needs
- Triage incoming telephone inquiries, offering solutions or referring to the appropriate area/person
- Foster effective communication and promote a supportive team approach within the ward to ensure good working relationships
- Assist with filing patient notes and results
- Book Patient Transport and interpreter services as required
- Effectively handle challenging behaviours and resolve conflicts.

- As the Ward Clerk/Administration Officer, You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
- To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service
- Well-developed communication skills, including professional telephone techniques
- Accurate keyboard skills and strong administrative abilities
- Understands and demonstrates the principles of teamwork
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good understanding of medical terminology
- Flexible and reliable
