As a member of our team you will work alongside technical experts from the Australian Government and international partners who share your passion for technical and protective security. You will be at the forefront of technical security technology and protective security principles, and you will play an active role to harden the Australian Government against acts of technical espionage.

ASIO's T4 Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) team is offering multiple positions at the SIEE1 (APS5), SIEE2 (APS6) and SIEE3 (EL1) levels.

A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.

TSCM Technical Officer (SIEE1/2)_**

As a TSCM Technical Officer you will undertake TSCM inspections and contribute to the evaluation of technical capabilities.

**Role responsibilities**

As a TSCM Technical Officer, you will:

- Undertake regular travel. Undertake TSCM inspections under instruction from a Senior Technical Officer (training provided).
- Proactively monitor changes in technology and the impact on technical security.
- Assist in developing or procuring capabilities to support TSCM inspections.
- Provide technical security awareness and education to clients.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders.

**What you will bring**
- Experience and proficiency in electronics, or related technical security roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent focus and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Formal qualifications in at least one of the following areas is required:

- Electronics.
- Electro-mechanical engineering.
- Radio frequency communications.

Formal qualifications or demonstrated experience in any of the following areas are highly desirable:

- TSCM.
- Telecommunications.
- Building management systems, electrical, fire, and/or emergency building services.
- Information technology (IT) networks, cyber-security principles, encryption techniques.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of security equipment and systems.
- Understanding of building construction methods.
- Understanding of physical, technical, or protective security.

TSCM Senior Technical Officer (SIEE3)_**

**Role responsibilities**

As a TSCM Senior Technical Officer you will:

- Provide technical leadership and expertise, enhance existing technical capabilities and take a lead role in the development of new technical security solution.
- Undertake regular travel.
- Proactively monitor changes in technology and its impact on technical security.
- Identify, develop and/or procure technical equipment and capabilities.
- Proactively identify better work practices and enhance the TSCM profession.
- Develop technical security educational material and raise technical security awareness among stakeholders.
- Plan and undertake sophisticated TSCM inspections.
- Collaborate with technical experts from within ASIO and from partner agencies.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Mentor junior TSCM officers.

**What you will bring**
- Experience and proficiency in TSCM or closely related technical security roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
