Technical Delivery Lead

It will require significant stakeholder engagement, helping define requirements, driving design, development and implementation of fit-for-purpose BI and analytics solutions, take ownership of BI and analytics platform, ensuring availability and stability, leading and mentoring members team members (both onshore and offshore) while promoting a high performing and collaborative environment.

It will require significant stakeholder engagement, helping define requirements, driving design, development and implementation of fit-for-purpose BI and analytics solutions, take ownership of BI and analytics platform, ensuring availability and stability, leading and mentoring members team members (both onshore and offshore) while promoting a high performing and collaborative environment.

This role is reporting into the Head of Data Platforms and Analytics can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

To do this successfully you will:

- Business Intelligence and analytics solutions: - Partner closely with Business stakeholders and BI and analytics teams within business and provide input to define comprehensive BI and analytics solutions, that offer actionable insights to all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment of business intelligence efforts with business priorities. Design and lead development of BI and analytics solutions and underlying data reporting layer
- Technical Delivery Management - Take full responsibility for delivery of fit-for-purpose BI and analytics solutions, by working closely with Project Managers - providing inputs on technical tasks required, estimations, leading technical delivery and release management to ensure successful project implementation.
- Governance and Standardization: - Establish templates, standards, and guidelines for report developers in both IT and business units. Drive consistency in reporting practices and enable data democratisation through self-service BI for business users.
- Collaboration and Partnership - Collaborate with Business stakeholders to define and build impactful BI and analytics solutions. Partner with fellow IT stakeholders like Technical Delivery Lead - Data, Data Engineering Lead and Architecture team for development of BI and analytics solution
- Team Leadership: - Lead and mentor a team of Business Intelligence Analysts (on-shore and offshore) in development of best practice in business intelligence and analytics

To be successful in this position you will have
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline with 8+ years of managing delivery and operation of BI and analytics platforms and services, preferably in insurance or financial industry.
- Deep understanding of Power BI, Data visualization practices, and underlying data engineering and modelling to support reporting data layer preferably in Databricks or similar
- Experience in reporting within life insurance domain - covering claims, policy, underwriting is not mandatory but is highly valued.
- Proven experience in independently leading the technical delivery of a team of BI engineers, both onshore and offshore, while effectively managing delivery risks and issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing Business intelligence team.
- Migration experience from Cognos and Tableau to Power BI will be highly regarded- Why choose AIA:
