**The role**:
Merchant Pricing is a strategic acquisition lever which when used skilfully and with commercial rigour, will allow us to sustainably grow our merchant market share.
The Manager/Consultant will be responsible for
- Assisting in the execution of the overall merchant pricing strategy across the medium to long term horizon by taking into consideration;- Portfolio performance
- Merchant acquiring and overall NAB strategic objectives
- New product delivery roadmap
- Shifts in the competitive landscape
- The regulatory, risk and compliance environment
- Customer preferences and emerging payments behavioural shifts
- Support the analysis of segment and industry specific (where relevant) pricing initiatives to grow NAB’s merchant acquiring market share while balancing portfolio performance across the front and back book.
- Support the ongoing review of portfolio performance and composition to ensure key performance indicators are proactively managed
- Support any activities required to ensuring merchant pricing and cost model adequately reflect costs taking into account scheme pricing, vendor and other third party agreements as well as minimum performance thresholds
- Ensure merchant pricing and cost model are managed in line with expectations
**What we are looking for in our talent**:
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, market research and pricing modelling techniques
- Ability to problem solve and determine pathways for resolution
- Ability to effectively communicate and synthesis information
- Ability to collaborate with various business stakeholders
- Understanding of the regulatory, risk and compliance environment in banking and finance
- Ability to work under ambiguity and reprioritise on an ongoing basis
Experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in banking ideally in a pricing or product management function
- Desired experience in Merchant Acquiring including understanding of ‘economics of acquiring’
Qualification Requirements
- Undergraduate degree
- Master’s degree desired
