McKenna & Associates are privileged to be sourcing a suitably qualified Associate for Commissioner Tsang of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a junior lawyer, recent LLB graduate or penultimate student with a genuine passion for industrial relations and dispute resolution.

**The Role**
You will act as a personal confidential assistant to the Commissioner and will be required to undertake the following duties:

- Arrange hearings, conferences and itineraries.
- Liaise with individual parties, employer and employee organisations and representatives to proceedings before the Commission.
- Undertake research as directed, oversee case management and assist the Commissioner in hearings.
- Draft documents as required and manage the Commissioner’s Chambers.

Knowledge of Court procedure and process; and the procedures and functions of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission will be viewed favourably.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

- Ability to organise work effectively and efficiently.
- High level of written and communication skills.
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
- High level of interpersonal skills including a capacity to deal with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to perform administrative tasks effectively including managing case files.
- Proven computer literacy, especially in word processing, data retrieval and work tracking systems.
- Experience in undertaking research in legal principles and industrial matters and a capacity to identify and use appropriate sources of information.
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
- The entitlement to live and work in Australia for the entire duration of the fixed term contract.
- Current ‘C’ class drivers’ license and;
- A successful Criminal Record Screening clearance.

This is a Ministerial appointment and will be for an initial 2 year fixed term with future extensions available.
