**About the Program**

The Community Access Team provides a range of services to provide access to One Door Mental Health services and outreach support to people living with a mental illness. The team supports the Community Access Outreach Service (CAOS), ODMH Support Groups and the Intake service.

**About the Position**

The Outreach Supports Worker will work alongside the Community Access Outreach Service Volunteers, ensuring that the service is recovery oriented, trauma informed and accessible via phone and web-based services.

ODMH operates locally as self-organised teams - called Recovery 2gether teams. Team members are collectively responsible and accountable for:

- People we support (e.g. clients, consumers, family and carers) and
- team tasks.

As a team member, you will work collaboratively with other team members to facilitate the effective operation of the team.

**Your skills and experience**
- Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (e.g. mental health, peer work, disability) or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the NSW mental health system and services
- An understanding of the recovery
- based approach to assisting people with severe and persistent mental illness
- Experience working with individuals and undertaking strengths-based assessments, goal setting and action plans
- Experience in the provision of training and support to volunteers
- Knowledge of mental health and other services in the community
- Ability to communicate and explain information in a clear, concise to consumers, colleagues and external professionals
- An understanding of the needs of hard to reach communities, CALD and Aboriginal communities and the LGTBQIA community
