We're on the lookout for a **Heritage Assessment Officer** to undertake historic research, assess potential heritage places, and help protect South Australia's rich cultural legacy. If you love heritage, history, and making a real impact — this is your chance to be part of something lasting.

**In this role, you will**:

- Undertake heritage assessments and related projects to support the heritage listing process.
- Provide expert advice to inform the South Australian Heritage Council.
- Contribute to the enhancement of information and practices related to heritage management across the state.
- Advise on matters concerning the listing, conservation, and management of heritage places.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct thorough research and assessments of heritage places.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for heritage listings.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide timely and accurate heritage advice and support to inform policy and decision-making.

**Contract**:
Ongoing

**Special Conditions**:

- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- A Current class “C" driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is desirable.
- May require some intra/interstate travel.
- Willingness to work outside of the normal hours of work when required.

**Remuneration**:
ASO4, $76,561 min - $80,256 max p.a.
