**The Role**
Under direction of the program lead, you will undertake a wide variety of complex tasks related to the Maritime Sustainment Divisions (MSD) Work Health and Safety Environmental (WHSE) program including:

- Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of the MSD Work Health Safety Environment Plan and Supplier Safety and Environmental Assurance program.
- Monitor internal safety compliance and assurance metrics, including the collation, analysis and identification of trends in WHS incident data.
- Provide continual improvement of practices to mitigate risks.
- Deliver WHSE support and advice to Business Units, agencies and other departments.
- As a team leader or member, provide support to Business Units for risk analysis, WHS supplier safety and environmental assurance planning and investigations.
- Research legislative, Defence and other organisational requirements, policies and process to support investigations, recommendations and advice.
- Develop briefs, minutes and reports as required.
- Represent the Directorate of Maritime Work Health and Safety Environment as required.

**About our Team**
The Directorate of Maritime Work Health Safety and Environment is accountable for developing and sustaining MSD’s Safety and Environment Management Systems, and assuring MSD senior leadership that these systems are effectively implemented and maintained. Maritime WHSE Directorate is led by an EL 2 and is part of the Maritime Support Branch.
- Be able to work in an integrated workforce consisting of ADF and APS.
- Have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be required to:

- Assist and undertake WHSE assurance activities and audits.
- Extract WHS data from the WHS incident reporting.
- Use your prior knowledge in WHS / Environmental auditing to plan, undertake and report on audit and assurance activities.
