The First Nations Inclusion Lead is responsible for establishing and implementing a strategy to advance First Nations representation and inclusion within AECOM Australia which includes building and maintain meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, organisations and communities.
This role will support AECOM’s leaders, through education and influence, to create a culture where First Nations people feel their unique attributes, personality, traits, characteristics, skills, experience, culture, and background are valued at work, and above all, they feel respected and included at AECOM.
Working with internal and external stakeholders, including our People and Culture Team, other key First Nations roles, our RAP Committee, and Reconciliation Australia, the First Nations Inclusion Lead is responsible for the delivery of our current RAP, and for the development of future RAPs or alternate instruments to advance AECOM’s First Nations representation and inclusion.
**Qualifications**:
- ** To perform this role it is essential that the person identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.**:
- 8+ years of experience in leading First Nations agendas in corporate environments
- Prior experience in implementing a RAP in organisations
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures
- Change management skills and ability to influence stakeholders at various stages of adoption
- Strong internal and external advocacy for First Nations participation and engagement
- Demonstrated strong commercial and business acumen, balancing desired agendas with organisational drivers
