Reporting to the General Manager and working within a team of 4, the Communications and Engagement Manager will:
- lead stakeholder engagement and communication strategy
- plan and create all communication materials including website, social media, email, publications, collateral and events
- create high-quality content including multimedia, creative storytelling, briefs and speaking notes
- project manage the annual report, including turning data into a compelling narrative
- provide expert input, coaching and advice on all communications activity
- establish relationships with communications peers in partner organisations
- oversee all member engagement and manage member giving programs and partnerships
- oversee a positive, engaging member experience and refreshed value proposition
- use the CRM and other systems to support communications and ensure accurate record keeping.
Joining at the start of an exciting new chapter, you'll build a refreshed engagement strategy and plan and deliver communications to support a new five-year organisational strategy.
You will also have the opportunity to travel to communities across Queensland to work with members and their communities first-hand.
About youYou're a skilled communicator on and off the page; using your skills to build trust and shared understanding with diverse stakeholders.
You're highly motivated to work in a role that contributes to real social impact, bringing a naturally curious, proactive and highly accountable approach.
You know the right questions to ask to ensure a brief is understood, which enables you to produce high quality outputs within given timeframes.
You can translate complex concepts and large amounts of information into tangible, compelling and accessible content, tailoring messages with empathy and respect for diverse audiences.
You thrive when juggling multiple projects, programs and deadlines and you're familiar with working in a small team.
You're comfortable providing guidance and coaching on communications and engagement matters and enjoy building organisational capability in strategic communications.
You have at least 7 years' experience in a senior communications role with demonstrated experience delivering strategic communications and managing engagement programs to exceptionally high standards.
You have experience working in a program or project context, so you know how to create effective communications and engagement plans that align with strategy, include clearly articulated objectives, and enable tangible outcomes to be measured. You may have honed these skills working in government, infrastructure, agency, not-for-profit or social impact.
You have the ability and willingness to be 'on the tools' using Salesforce CRM, MailChimp, Wordpress and Canva.
This role has no direct reports — you will be hands-on writing and creating content and engagement materials.
