**About the Role**

DP World’s Port Botany Terminal in Sydney is a vital hub for Australia’s trade, managing the efficient movement of cargo through one of the country’s busiest container ports. Our Operations Team has consistently achieved major milestones, including handling over 700,000 containers annually, demonstrating our commitment to operational excellence.

We are seeking a motivated Operations Superintendent to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily terminal operations, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

In this highly visible leadership role, you will drive team performance, foster a strong safety culture, and work closely with the other Operations Superintendent to meet and exceed business objectives and customer expectations. This role operates on a 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour day shift roster across 7 days.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and the other Operations Superintendent to provide leadership to the wider Operations team including providing direction on daily operational responsibilities to meet our customers’ expectations.
- Lead by example in the execution of safe work practices and ensure full compliance with WHS&E statutory requirements.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for the operational environment to improve terminal results.
- Ensuring compliance of all relevant policies, procedures and processes.
- Identify opportunities for growth and improvement to meet budgets and targets for the terminal and operations.
- Work with Operations Supervisors to ensure effective deployment of the team to meet operational deliverables and achieve greater productivity.
- Work in partnership with the National Planning Centre and Customer Care Team to achieve or exceed customer satisfaction targets.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

You will be a senior logistics professional with substantial experience in terminal operations within transport, maritime or stevedoring industries. You have strong leadership and management experience within the container or bulk ports sector or similar industry. In addition, you will require:

- Tertiary qualifications within business, engineering, logistics or other relevant fields or equivalent operational experience
- Substantial experience in leading/managing a team of shift workers
- Industrial relations management experience in unionised environments
- Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to the receipt and delivery of cargo
- Knowledge of terminal yard, vessel operations and capabilities of cargo handling equipment
- Detailed understanding of legal obligations, commercial and contractual issues relating to stevedoring operations
- High level of computer literacy, competent in the use of terminal, vessel and yard planning and control systems

- Manage conflict including people management matters in a resilient and emotionally intelligent matter
- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business systems, services, outcomes and in generating creative solutions for business problems and work practices
- Communicate and negotiate effectively with a broad variety of stakeholders
