Assistant Materials Officer

**Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking basic materials classification and compliance tests, and assist materials testing practitioners with other tests including specialist tests.
- Assist with sampling, equipment checking and calibration, investigations and instrumentation.
- Perform all sampling and testing in strict accordance with the Materials Services Management Operations System.
- Use all equipment, apparatus and reagents in keeping with documented procedures as well as ensure all personal protection equipment (PPE) and other safety devices are used when and as directed.
- Assist senior staff in liaising with customers, stakeholders and service authorities.
- Develop an understanding of NATA accreditation.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Required to commit to the Materials Services Career Development Program which will include achievement of a Certificate III/IV in Laboratory Techniques.
- Current holder of a Class C driver's licence.
Highly desirable requirements
- Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques.
