The Opportunity
The Transport Rail Lead - will be responsible for leading and managing a team of rail engineers and technical specialists to deliver rail projects in NSW. Your primary duties will include overseeing the development and implementation of rail design and construction plans, managing project budgets and schedules, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
You will be:
- Building the resources and capability of the NSW rail team to deliver successful outcomes for our clients
- Responsible for the NSW rail team leadership and management of staff in NSW
- Driving project performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes
- Providing sound and effective leadership on major rail projects by providing direction and technical advice
- Accountable for sound project governance, including instigating formal reviews and risk management
- Responsible for the management and maintenance of Mott MacDonald’s ASA AEO accreditation
- Leading the implementation of the Australian rail strategy in NSW
- Mentor and train others in the delivery of rail projects
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring that client delivery is above expectation
- Embrace Mott MacDonald’s Digital Strategy by using technology to support global networking; promoting the use of global network system
- About You
- You will have a technical background, with BSc. Civil Engineering or equivalent (preferably RPEQ status).
- 10-15+ years Professional experience within an engineering consultancy
- Demonstrated technical capability across Rail engineering
- Effective & proven business development, networking, and client relationship management skills
- Proven track record to lead a team of specialists with a wide range of skills and experience
- Ability to develop lasting client relationships based on trust and delivery excellence
- Demonstrated experience in delivering projects from proposal to completion
- Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members
- Provide technical leadership, often in multi-disciplinary teams for planning, feasibility studies and detailed design project phases.
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines in a dynamic environment.
