**What is the Role?**

The Clinical Care Manager is a vital role in the Clinical team at Harbison. The Director of Nursing plays a key role in Harbison, managing teams of nurses who are on the frontline. The main aim of a Director of Nursing is to ensure a high standard of resident care, create training programs, and manage nursing staff to achieve resident care objectives.

**You will be responsible for**:

- As a senior leader, you will have a high level of accountability for clinical governance, including leadership & culture, consumer partnerships, organisational systems, monitoring & reporting, effective workforce, and communications & relationships.
- Providing a safe and respectful environment for consumers, the workforce, and visiting health practitioners that supports and encourages positive partnerships and encourages consumers and the workforce to identify and raise concerns about clinical quality and safety.
- Actively identify, monitor, and manage areas of risk for the service and individual consumers and lead appropriate escalation and response where there are concerns about the clinical outcomes or well-being of consumers.
- Ensure clinical care is provided in accordance with evidence-based best practices, Harbison policy, legislation, and standards, and ensure the professional standards of nursing practice are maintained within Harbison.
- Ensure the workforce is clear about its roles and responsibilities, is supported with resources, standards, systems, knowledge, and skills development, and is held to account for the quality and safety of the clinical care it provides, supervises, or directs.
- Lead cultural change through practice development, teamwork and transformational leadership that contributes to improved resident outcomes.
- Efficiently manage and supervise the recruitment, professional development, capabilities, and utilisation of the workforce to meet the needs of the residents.
- Providing timely and meaningful feedback to the workforce on their performance, recognising both positive performance examples and providing constructive feedback on areas requiring improvement.

**What are we looking for?**
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior clinical aged care role.
- Demonstrated current, detailed knowledge of aged care funding, accreditation, and aged care regulation.
- Demonstrated capability in relation to quality, risk, feedback, continuous improvement, and incident management systems.
- Demonstrated capability in developing and nurturing relationships and person-centred care.
- Demonstrated capability for complex problem-solving, communication, prudential management, and analysis.
- Detailed understanding of contemporary aged care issues and change management capability.
- Capacity to integrate the principles of clinical governance, quality improvement, evidence-based clinical practice, person-centred care, and professional development into an effective Harbison model of care.
