Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A fantastic opportunity at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as a Manager, Fixed Assets Accounting, reporting to the Executive Manager, Financial Control & Accounting Services. You will join the Financial Control & Accounting Services Team and act as a critical pillar to ensure the smooth running of nbn’s finance function.

A bit about your role

The Manager, Fixed Assets Accounting role is primarily responsible for coordinating asset capitalisation of capital projects and preparing and developing reporting over nbn’s network and non-network assets and associated depreciation and amortisation.

As a Manager within the Fixed Assets team, it is your role to support internal and external audit process deliverables, implement controls and reviews to facilitate audit queries and ensure the accuracy of the results. You will work effectively with offshore to transition transactional activity and document agreed processes and procedures.

The role will allow nbn to successfully achieve the objectives and proactively ensure project and capitalisation issues are managed effectively. You will seek to identify improvement opportunities, standardise processes within the team, be proactive in problem-solving and support the development and delivery of Capex and capitalisation reporting.

A bit about you

Ideally, you will have experience supporting a high standard of governance around project creation, maintenance, structure and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your accuracy and attention to detail are essential as you will assist in a highly transactional environment.

Your ability to convey information clearly and effectively, with a clear purpose, will impact opinions and decisions from the Executive Manager, Financial Control and Accounting Services. You will produce accurate depreciation and depreciation forecasts to support the Executive Manager in meeting their reporting obligations to the stakeholders.

Your approach collaborates with others to help maintain and build effective relationships to achieve common goals and objectives.

Life at nbn
