Myer is looking for an **Industrial/Architectural Designer** (known as a **Concept Designer** within our organisation) to design, manage and deliver world class retail design concepts and solutions into Myer stores from concept through to detailed design and delivery onsite. Working with both Internal and External Stakeholders to drive and deliver new and innovative designs within Myer to ensure the business gets maximum value from capital spent. You will be working with external brand partners to review and approve brand submissions to enhance the retail experience and appearance of Myer stores.

**About the role**:

- Ability to design and present new and innovative design concepts that support the company strategy.
- Develop/create and/or manage store layout designs, supplier and department concepts using presentation sketches & relevant technical documentation, specifications, details and finishes for costing and approvals.
- Develop and/or deliver large scale detailed project documentation, on time, in the ordered quality, and within budget.
- Liaise/communicate with internal/external brand/supplier stakeholders, manage external consultants, shopfitters and contractors to ensure all design are in line with Myer strategy and project outcomes are achieved.
- Follow through with each project to ensure design detailing is executed through the construction phases from prototyping, defect resolution through to completion of the site works.
- Ensuring the design process recognises and adheres to current legislation, standards and codes of practice.
- Production of supplier documentation in Cad format (Pad Plans) for proposed installations within Myer stores.
- Review and approve supplier concepts in line with the Myer Design installation guidelines.

**About you**:

- 2+ years of retail design experience.
- A degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of retail/product design in terms of store layouts, fixture design, lighting, finishes and signage.
- Good understanding of building and construction means and methods including a strong knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and legislation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe CS6 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong concept design skills, a proven track record of running and delivering projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills; verbal, written and visual.
- Strong visual presentation skills including perspective sketching, graphic design and rendering (hand or computer generated) with the ability to read/interpret detailed design documentation.
- Effective time management and an ability to multi-task and prioritize a dynamic workload.
- Ability and willingness to perform under tight deadlines to ensure successful completion of all work assignments.
