Working hand-in-hand with the screen and broadcast industries, AFTRS is a global centre of excellence that delivers the highest level of screen and broadcast education, training and research across Australia.
We are looking for an organised and motivated Production Coordinator to join our dynamic Production Team. You will support the Head of Production and Production Supervisor, and coordinate student productions across all Award Courses to ensure their safety and efficient delivery. This involves working with multiple divisions and teams within the school to ensure that all students are supported and facilitated to produce their projects safely.
- **About the role**:_
- As the Production Coordinator at AFTRS, you will:_
- Work with the Production and Production Operations teams to provide high-level production support, including coordinating production-related queries and issues with students, lecturers and specialist contractors, to be dealt with at the appropriate level.
- Provide a high-level of customer service to all students, staff and external contractors regarding booking of equipment and resources in Award Courses.
- Employ specialist technical equipment knowledge to effectively liaise with students, Discipline Leads and support staff and source alternative options for bookings where necessary.
- Source external specialist contractors and prepare appropriate contracts, ensuring they are introduced appropriately to AFTRS charter, code of conduct and values, WHS requirements and understand expectations regarding their work - type, hours and conduct.
- Create and maintain all staff and student facing production schedules, track documents and Teams spaces and coordinate the flow of updates to relevant teaching and support staff in a timely manner with a very high degree of accuracy.
- Monitor student compliance with WHS and statutory regulations on student productions through feedback and notes on student Risk Assessments. This requires a thorough knowledge of industry-standard WHS practices and legislation.
- Synthesise complex shoot details across multiple projects filming simultaneously and interpret, coordinate and report this information efficiently to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring of students on production pathways and industry-standard paperwork as requested by students.
- Work with Head of Production to establish clear and consistent systems and processes across all student productions to enable the Production and Production Operations teams to effectively manage times of high demand and workload.
- Provide budget and accounting support and contracting of external cast and crew for student productions.
- Audit, catalogue and maintain Chain of Title portfolio and distribution paperwork for all student works actively distributed by the School.
- **About you - you have**:_
- Demonstrated hands-on production experience or experience in a similar role.
- High-level attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills with the proven ability to work proactively under pressure with limited supervision.
- Ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders, engaging them towards successful production and partnerships, and exercise sound judgement and initiative.
- High-level problem-solving skills including the ability to deal positively with and resolve complaints from students, staff and industry partners.
