**Position Information**:
Epping West Public School has a population of 1194 students including three support classes. Currently 94.6% of students come from a Language Background Other than English, predominantly Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and Indian language groups. Communication and connection to involve these diverse communities in the vision and culture of the school are priorities.

The school community is characterised by caring parents who have a high level of interest in education and a willingness to be involved in the life of the school. Integral to our school environment are our community partnerships and support networks including our Parent and Citizens Association, School Council and Student Representative Council.

Students value school and achieve at high levels academically within a climate of high expectations for success. Students are offered a wide range of whole school activities including choir, bands, strings, recorder, dance, drama, debating, chess and sporting teams.

There is a mix of very experienced, expert and early career teachers. EWPS has a culture of providing a positive learning environment of constant improvement where all students experience personal success. Choice Theory underpins the wellbeing and decision making across the school setting. The school has recently completed a build of 29 flexible classrooms and administration facilities enhancing the teaching and learning environment.

2. Proven ability to be a visible and visionary leader with a strong commitment to further building the school profile and enhancing partnerships with parents and the wider educational community.

3. Clear evidence of being an open, collaborative and resilient leader with the ability to make informed and strategic decisions while ensuring the wellbeing of students, staff and community.

4. Successful evidence of high level educational leadership, with a proven ability to lead a high stakes school that is focused on student learning and building staff capacity in strong pedagogical delivery, whilst supporting growth targets for the school and students.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
