**About the Role**

**This is a Fixed term role for 2 years**

The role of the Project Lead is to lead the delivery of capital road projects using project management, contract management, and engineering knowledge to ensure compliance with agreed scope and DTP’s standards and specifications.

The role is to exercise independent professional judgement to plan, implement and monitor road and bridge works to achieve project scope, quality, cost, time, safety and environmental requirements in accordance with relevant policies and toolkits.

- **Project Management & Assurance - **Exercise independent professional judgement to plan, procure, implement, and monitor road and bridge works to achieve project scope, quality, cost, time, safety and environmental requirements in accordance with relevant policies and toolkits
- **Project Monitoring -** Prepare, monitor and report on the physical and financial status of projects, and develop innovative responses to improve project outcomes and project processes
- **Construction and OH&S Advice - **Ability to understand and write contract specifications and service delivery in road and bridge design, construction and maintenance practices and standards to prepare and administer contracts for works
- **Quality and Risk Management** - Exercise independent professional judgement to anticipate and assess potential project risks, undertake/coordinate complex risk assessments and develop necessary mitigation plans
- **Community Engagement** - Engage and manage key stakeholders internally and externally
- **Supplier/Contractor Management** - Understand and hold supplier/contractor to account for technical, safety and permit requirements
- **Ways of Working** - Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, project management or related discipline

**Desirable**
- 5+ years of construction experience
- Experience in liaising with contractors/clients
