**The Opportunity**
Minda have a rare opportunity that will ideally suit an experienced WHS Advisor with a genuine desire to work in the community services sector. Reporting to the Group Manager, People Operations, the WHS Advisor will work with a high level of autonomy, providing expert advice, coaching and support across Minda in all facets of Work Health and Safety to support Minda’s extensive WHS requirements.
**Role Responsibilities**
- Provide advice to leaders on WHS legislation, standards and Codes of Practice.
- Contribute to building leader capacity and clarity of WHS responsibilities for their respective work groups through coaching, education and training.
- Implement solutions for the identification, prevention and early intervention of WHS related issues.
- Collaboratively develop and implement WHS management systems, work practices, and policies and procedures, to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative requirements.
- Review online incident reporting and work with management to ensure report quality and investigations meets required compliance standards.
- Plan and coordinate annual Health & Safety Representative training.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions for Leaders and staff on WHS safety practices and legislative requirements.
- Identify, recommend, and implement strategies for the prevention and early intervention of WHS related issues.
- Ensure WHS is embedded into practice, and actively drive the development of a positive and safe prevention culture at Minda.
**Essential Requirements**
- Experience providing high level advice in all facets of Work Health & Safety.
- Sound knowledge of WHS Act, regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards.
- Highly effective communication skills to consult, deliver training, facilitate meetings and produce written correspondence.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and reviewing WHS Management Systems including work practices, policies, procedures and strategies.
- A high level of initiative with the ability to set own priorities and meet deadlines.
- Tertiary Qualification in WHS.
**Desirable**
- An understanding of the Self Insurance Performance Standards/AS 4801.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
**Other**
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance.
- Current and unrestricted SA Driver’s Licence.
- Have the flexibility to travel to alternative Minda sites.
- Proof of COVID booster vaccination
