Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital

Our Ward is a 46-bed combined DOSA and Day Surgery Unit providing preoperative and postoperative care to surgical patients in a wide range of surgical specialities. These include Cardiology, Orthopaedic, ENT, Vascular, Gynaecology, Plastics and General Surgery.

You will join as an integral multi-disciplinary team member providing a high standard of care for patients in the areas of patient care, patient transport and support of the nursing care team as directed.

The Position- All direct patient care is carried out under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurse/Midwife/Enrolled Nurses.- Transfer patients using all forms of patient transport to all areas of the Hospital.- All duties are carried out in accordance with the duty list.- Perform manual handling of patients under supervision of Registered Nurse/Midwife/Enrolled Nurses.- Assist Nursing Caregivers with the care of patients.- Ensure privacy of patients is maintained.- Understand role in an emergency and follow direction of the coordinator.- Maintain safe environment for patient contributing to patient comfort needs.- Contribute to an efficient and timely patient admission, transfer and discharge process.- Assist Registered Nurse/Midwife/Enrolled Nurses in care of deceased patients.
