**Where you'll be working**:
An exciting opportunity to join the Maitland/Kurri & Cessnock Social Work Services, in the position of Maitland/Kurri & Cessnock - Child Protection Social Worker. This position sits within the Maitland Hospital Social Work Team, comprising of critical and acute care, ICU, Maternity Services & Paediatrics. The successful applicant will be joining a dynamic exciting team of dedicated Social Worker with a passion for positive patient outcomes, within the Health Systems. The position will work across various teams and departments within Lower Hunter Sector.

**About the role**:
The successful applicant will provide consultation, leadership and case management in the area of Child Protection across the various sites. Support staff to identify and respond to patients and families where Child Protection concerns are identified. Provide education, in services and the promotion of Child Protection related events within the Maitland/Kurri & Cessnock Health sites.

Maitland/Kurri & Cessnock - Child Protection Social Worker, has direct line management to the Maitland Hospital Social Worker Services Site Senior, to provide timely advise, support and consultation. The position is also supported clinically by the Team Leader - Child Protection Team at John Hunter Hospital and the Hunter VAN Network.

**About you**:
We are seeking a person who is highly motivated, able to work independently with in complex Child Protection matters and within a team. A person with specific knowledge and experience in the area of Child Protection, policies, procedures and legislation. Someone with established network within the Child Protection area, who can utilise those networks to improve and maintain the working relationships between Health and Department of Communities and Justice.

We are seeking a person with a passion to increase the knowledge of Child Protection across the sites by participating in education, consultation and leading Child Protection related events throughout the Sector.

**Requirements**:

- Must hold a minimum of Bachelor Degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and minimum of three full years of post-graduate experience.
