The Southern Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), is a program of Monash Health and has the responsibility in the Southern Region of the Department of Human Services for:
- The provision and development of effective services to victim/survivors and associated people affected by sexual assault and family violence
- The provision of assessment and treatment for children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour.
- The provision of public education and professional training on sexual assault and anti-violence issues
- Social planning and processes related to reducing societal violence.
The SECASA Primary Prevention Program delivers anti-violence training and education programs to young people in secondary schools via Respect Protect Connect and provides advanced personal safety programs in primary schools via Feeling Safe Together. The program additionally delivers specialist sexual assault and family violence education and training packages to the community, professionals and stakeholders.
**A Day in the Life**:
As the Primary Prevention Program / Education and Training Co-ordinator you will oversee all aspects of the Primary Prevention Program. Key responsibilities include:
- Co-ordinate the SECASA Primary Prevention Program including staff supervision, marketing materials and strategy, manage training and education bookings and liaise with external stakeholders
- Coordinate, develop, market and deliver sexual assault and family violence training and education packages
- Organise whole of school advanced personal safety programs via Feeling Safe Together
- Conducting workshops and in-services for teaching staff, parents, community groups and health professionals in regards to anti-violence strategies and the promotion of such strategies
- Ensuring training packages are relevant and using up to date resources and information
- Updating the training manual and related training courses
- Filing of quarterly reports regarding the project targets set by DFFH
- Raising invoices to be sent to Monash Health Finance Department so they can forwarded onto Schools who have received our services
The Primary Prevention Program / Education and Training Co-ordinator will be primarily based at East Bentleigh, however will travel frequently between SECASA sites and Schools to deliver education programs.
**What You Bring**:
- You will have professional experience working with victim survivors of sexual assault and family violence
- Demonstrated experience undertaking sexual assault / family violence prevention work in the broader community
- Experience in project management and program coordination including staff supervision
- Strong communication and experience delivering training to small and large audiences.
**What You Need**:
**_ Grade 3 Occupational Therapist_**
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
- Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions.
- _ A current Victorian licence._
**Grade 3 Social Work**
- Formal qualification in Social Work and eligibility for AASW
- An Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited Bachelor Degree or entry level Master’s Degree of Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the AASW
- Written evidence of eligibility of AASW membership for overseas qualifications
- Minimum of seven years’ experience as a qualified Social Worker
- Accredited Social Worker as approved by the AASW
- _ A current Victorian licence._
**OR Community Development**
- Bachelor of Community Development
- _A current Victorian licence._
