Allied Health clinicians are a vital part of the health care workforce and contribute to patient care across Monash Health in both inpatient and community based services. Our Adult Hospital-based teams include more than 600 skilled allied health clinicians, working across Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Moorabbin Hospital and the Kingston Centre.Our allied health workforce is structured to ensure robust governance, career development pathways and to promote learning and development, research and other quality initiatives to enhance patient care.

**A Day in the Life**:
The role of the General Manager Allied Health Adult Hospital Care is tolead the delivery of contemporary allied health clinical care focussed on client outcomes, experience and wellbeing, and, to contribute to the wider multi-disciplinary delivery of clinical services across Monash Health. Expect to manage the day-to-day operations of your allied health teams and to develop a skilled and innovative Allied Health workforce in partnership with your Allied Health Heads of Profession and our Chief Allied Health Officer. You will be involved in developing and operationalising the strategic direction for high-quality care and will contribute constructively to the delivery of allied health services, with a focus on continuous improvement and growth. In addition, you will contribute to the broader health service leadership team, through participation in senior organisational committees and forums.

**What You Bring**:
You are an Allied Health leader with experience from an Allied Health service of a multi-campus and/or large health service. In addition, you bring:

- Extensive experience in a clinical leadership role with a demonstrated understanding of operation in an acute setting.
- Proven high level leadership skills with the ability to shape the future direction, exercise leadership behaviours, and provide sound judgment and professional standards.
- Demonstrated management experience and proven ability to develop and meet strategic and operational objectives.
- Financial management skills with the ability to review cost structures and deliver services within a budget.
- A demonstrated commitment to quality and safety, together with strategies to address service access.
- A record of valuing, motivating, and developing employees through effective leadership and management.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills particularly in relation to influencing consultation and negotiation.
- Capacity to be an effective member of senior Monash Health Committees, stimulate constructive debate and support colleagues in the achievement of objectives.
- Ability to present, engage and influence at Board level

**What you need**:

- A tertiary qualification in Allied Health with current AHPRA registration and eligibility for membership of relevant professional organisation.
- Research degree, and research and publication track record (desirable)
