**Job Summary**
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team in the government sector. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services, while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and policies. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of various projects and initiatives within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, ensuring a competitive and transparent procurement process.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders, considering project requirements and budget constraints.
- Prepare and review procurement documentation, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Invitations to Tender (ITTs), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate favorable terms and conditions, ensuring the best value for money while mitigating risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate contract management activities, including contract review, performance monitoring, and compliance tracking.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders on procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management will be an advantage.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role, preferably within the government sector.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier evaluation skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and policies governing government procurement.
