**About Our Client**

Our client is a well-established RTO College that provides vocational education in Project Management and Marketing and Communication courses primarily to international students, centrally located within walking distance of Central Station and Town Hall Station. Its aim is to provide the highest possible standards of excellence in all aspects of our education delivery and to be a positive force behind students in the fulfilment of their study and career goals. With the College’s focus on opening a brand-new English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) program, the new Academic Manager will play a crucial role in executing the curriculum and syllabus, assuring quality content delivery, designing assessment tools, assessment marking and validation, and providing support, guidance and training for ELICOS teachers.

**Position Overview**

Our client is seeking a qualified, experienced and motivated Academic Manager to lead our ELICOS department, specifically delivering General English courses on a casual and ongoing basis. The senior academic role entails a high degree of accountability for the provision of quality education in effective planning, management, delivery and assessment. The Academic Manager will ensure that the organisation complies with regulatory and legislative requirements and relevant in-house policies and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage and implement General English curriculum, course reviews and assessment validations.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality academic programs to predominately international students.
- Oversee facilities and resources catalogue, making sure updates are made appropriately and sufficient for teaching, in-class, and self-study materials.
- Make sure formative assessments and summative assessments are carried out as per the curriculum and syllabus of the course.
- Review, update and implement College’s academic policies, procedures, and courses.
- Contribute to the management structure, including policy and strategic planning and development.
- Take leadership of the ELICOS academic department and student support effectively utilise and integrate resources available to the college.
- Carry out the placement test.
- Deliver classes when required.
- Monitor students course progress and intervene timely to assist students in completing studies satisfactorily and report to management on any issues.
- Establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, training and systems to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements at all times.
- Promote and maintain a positive environment in the College culture, encouraging connection between students, staff and other internal and external stakeholders.

**Key Criteria**
- Recognised Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Suitable TESOL qualification at postgraduate diploma level or above
- Experience in managing and/or teaching ELT
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of the National Code 2018 and ELICOS Standards 2018.
- Strong currency and working knowledge of effective ELT teaching
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

**Salary**: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
