Riverina Australia is a premier supplier of animal feed for the agriculture industry and a leading exporter of grain and protein meals to South East Asia, the Pacific Rim and other export markets. Their commitment to supplying rural Australia with the highest quality products spans some 95 years. With their head office in Brisbane, and 260 staff across the business, Riverina Australia have manufacturing and sales facilities in regional areas over two states, with strong backing and support from their long-term owner Mitsubishi Corporation.
As People & Culture Manager you will be responsible for developing and maintaining national HR systems and policies to support business strategy, and to improve and reward performance, develop management and employee capability and ensure legal compliance. The People & Culture Manager will develop, present for approval and manage the implementation of all HR policies for the company. You will identify training needs and solutions to ensure all staff have the correct level of training and awareness to their roles. In addition, you will:
- Support business strategy by establishing and maintaining human resources policies, procedures and practices in line with the parent company’s strategy, global best practice, and the local business context
- Provide specialist advice and operational support to management in all HR activities, employee relations, performance management, remuneration and benefits, recruitment/selection, employee counselling, training and development
- Facilitate communication between management and local staff, by coordinating the recognition and reward program, promoting site celebrations and driving the internal company newsletter
- Ensure payroll is managed efficiently and accurately whilst complying with regulatory requirements and company accounting practices
- Offer HR and payroll support to Riverina branches within Australia
We are keen to hear from you if you are an HR professional and possess the following skills and attributes:
- 5+ years plus HR experience in a multi-site manufacturing, agricultural processing or similar environment, preferably with tertiary qualifications in a HR related discipline
- Highly trustworthy, credible and a well-respected person with a track record of setting priorities, meeting commitments and delivering results
- A genuine team player with proven ability to build positive working relationships both internal and external, especially with staff who are regionally located
- Strong project management, attention to detail, logical decision-making processes
- A hands-on and down to earth approach and somebody who is keen to immerse themselves in the business, and looks forward to going out on site
The People & Culture Manager also works closely with Japanese rotating staff matters, so cultural awareness in communication with senior management from a non-English speaking background is essential.
