**About the OPPORTUNITY**
We have an exciting opportunity for a **Compartment Completion Coordinator** join the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program based in Osborne, SA. The DCE program will provide a number of capability upgrades to the existing Hobart Class guided missile destroyers (DDGs).
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Compartment Completion Coordinator will assist in the delivery of the Ships Compartments for the Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
**Key responsibilities include (but not limited to)**:
- Conduct compartment and tank inspections, documenting identified issues and ensuring corrective actions are tracked.
- Coordinate and track the rectification of trade defects and non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution.
- Assist Area Managers in maintaining the Production and Compartment Completion schedule.
- Support acceptance/handover of Compartments from/to the Customer
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure production quality control standards are met.
- Coordinate quality and customer inspection hold/witness points.
- Support the closeout of tasks through the TPCC (Task Progress Completion Certificate) process.
- Assist in the labelling of ship systems, equipment, and compartments to ensure proper identification and traceability.
- Coordinate compartment access and key control
- Support Area Managers to manage and deconflict activities according to the Ship Plan of Day (SPOD).
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by sharing lessons learned across the business, facilitating knowledge transfer for future projects.
- Maintain accurate records of task status and completion progress, ensuring all inspections and documentation are up-to-date and in place.***
**About YOU**
- Degree or Trade qualification with experience relevant to Shipbuilding
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in inspection in relevant Shipbuilding disciplines
- Confined Space certificate or the ability to obtain
- Proactive and detail orientated
- Self-sufficient, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specification requirement
- Strong background in conducting inspection with Inspection qualification highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the business
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and ability to learn relevant software packages used on DCE
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
