**About us**
Play Matters Australia (formerly Playgroup Qld) is a registered charity with 90 employees that supports and establishes state and national parenting programs aimed at families with young children. PM also acts as a voice to the government and the wider community on early childhood and parenting. Operating for almost 50 years, PMA aims to provide children from birth to five years with the best start to their life by providing their parents and caregivers with skills and confidence to support their child through the fundamental act of play.
**About the position**
The Executive Manager, Operations is a newly created position that reports to the CEO, acts a 2IC to the CEO, and provides operational leadership to ensure the achievement of operational and strategic goals with a focus on with a focus on culture, quality system, sustainable operating model and business practice.
A key function of the role is to support the CEO in growing the organisation by ensuring program design and delivery is efficient, effective, scalable, and informed by strong program evaluation and client input.
The role will be responsible for leading a significant change management exercise across the company to embed the business operating model, quality framework, adopt an enhanced evaluation focus in programs, and position the company for future quality accreditation.
Leading a small team of finance, admin and policy, and in collaboration with the CEO and Senior Team, this position is accountable for the following functions:
- Ensure a fit-for-purpose operating model that supports the adoption of consistent and efficient business policies, processes, and procedures; and strong governance accountabilities across the company.
- Support SMT and Brand and Experience Manager to ensure the operating model is supported by ICT systems that enable organisational communication, collaboration, accountability, and efficiency.
- Ensure business delegations exercise strong accountability checks at the appropriate level.
- Operationalise the performance management and reporting framework and support the CEO to ensure alignment with strategic and operational business plans and KPIs.
- Lead the change management process to embed the operating model and contribute to improved organisational culture and capability.
- Ensure client voices inform program design and delivery through the establishment of an effective and representative client reference group.
- Achieve organisational quality system certification (HSQF) and support continuous improvement.
- Ensure Play Matters programs embed best practice evaluation strategies to improve program outcomes for clients and achievable scalable program improvements.
- Support ongoing risk management, legislative and contract compliance.
- Provide internal leadership and champion the brand and values of Play Matters Australia.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Leadership experience in an NFP organisation with grant acquittal experience
- Demonstrated business services organisation skills in designing quality systems and governance frameworks.
- A background in the delivery of Human Services, Social Work, Early Years, Community Development and/or Therapeutic Allied Health programs is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in business operations, program evaluation or project management are essential.
- Demonstrated experience in program design, delivery and evaluation in the fields of Human Services, Social Work, Health/ Therapeutic, Community Development, and/or Early Years or other relevant service delivery fields.
- Strong organisational performance management and reporting skills, including business planning, performance monitoring and analysis, and reporting.
- High level strategic thinking, project planning skills, and the ability to assist others to adapt to change.
- Qualifies or holds Working With Children Check (blue card), current drivers licence and ability t travel inter/intrastate.
