We are looking for a dynamic and motivated National Business Manager who will successfully execute agreed strategies and tactics within the Independent Trade to ensure achievements of margins and sales budgets while maintaining effective relationship with a range of customers and stakeholders.
**Description**:
About the Role
Reporting to the Sales Director, the National Business Manager will play a critical role in the strategic planning and activation while managing a portfolio of over 150 products across multiple food categories & brands.
**Key Responsibilities will include**:
Lead the range review and category development process across Metcash and support State leads
Develop and maintain strong trading relationships with major key account groups for promotions, new line presentation, pricing, trade shows and events, trading terms etc.
Manage clear communication with a range of internal teams and departments regarding progress, key priorities, objectives etc. ensuring clarity and alignment
Deliver the annual sales budget through top line sales and margin
Set priority plans as well as develop and communicate the supporting activation plans to ensure gold standard execution
Ensure the delivery of support material to the broader sales team well in advance of promotions, incentives, NPD presentations etc.
Lead the priority planning process to ensure plans are in place to achieve budget targets
Proactively prepare monthly priority plans on a rolling quarterly basis
Manage all aspects of targets including setting, agreements, cascading, tracking and reporting
Manage the financial and demand forecast to ensure full visibility of expected future performance
**Skills and Experiences**:
Skills and Experience
Extensive FMCG sales and account management experience within a similar industry or scope
Sound ability to collect, analyse and present complex data and information effectively to support decision making and action planning
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide authoritative advice, influence and negotiate with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks to achieve objectives and KPIs
Demonstrated record in delivering continuous improvement initiatives in a complex operating environment.
Ability to adapt positively to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles.
Ability to operate at a strategic level and also be hands on
- Some Interstate travel will be involved to meet with State Sales Teams and MSO groups
