**About the role**
The Events and Department Communication Team plays a vital role in shaping how Treasury communicates internally and externally.

Whether it’s a ministerial briefing or a department-wide forum, they ensure every event aligns with Treasury’s broader policy and program goals.
The EL1 Events Lead will lead the planning and delivery of ministerial and departmental events. You'll be responsible for:
- Efficiently and effectively designing and delivering events that directly support Treasury’s objectives.

- Leading major ministerial and department events like, Budget lock-ups, stakeholder forums, and virtual conferences.
- Managing projects end-to-end and understanding how it all fits together, especially those tied to the Federal Budget process.
- Collaborating with your team, ensuring events are well-planned, well-executed, and thoroughly evaluated.
- Juggling priorities with confidence, you’ll use your skills and experience to stay flexible when things shift, and tackle issues head-on.
- Taking the lead in a small team, mentoring junior staff and helping colleagues grow in their roles.
This role includes some weekend and after-hours work during peak periods, and for the delivery of events.
This position is for a **12-month non-ongoing role**, with a merit pool to be established to fill future non-ongoing or ongoing vacancies.
**The successful applicant**:
- You’re someone who thrives on connection and loves building relationships, knowing how to network with purpose.
- You’re a clear communicator, both in writing and in person and you listen just as well as you speak.
- You’re an experienced event professional who understands that meticulous planning is crucial to delivering successful events.
- Details matter to you, and you spot the small things others might miss. You’re adaptable, innovative, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once.
