ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a newly created position. Reporting into the National Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer for Port Phillip Prison will be responsible for supporting and assisting to the Port Phillip Prison Contract ensuring records in Dimensions and PayGlobal are maintained and accurate. You will be a team player by being a backup and contingency for Rostering Team absence and other relevant duties. You will also need to work closely with other staff within the sites to ensure timely and accurate payroll completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
**The core responsibilities of this role are to**:
- Assist in developing, improving, documenting and maintaining the payroll system, including establishing and maintaining payroll records.
- Processing multiple end-to-end payroll process in complex environment
- Processing workers compensation and deductions
- Calculations of payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation and annual leave
- Maintenance of relevant up-to-date information for employer and employee organisation regarding salary and wage levels, for all relevant Awards / Agreements
We are keen to hear from customer service oriented payroll professionals who can demonstrate 2+ years' experience in a similar role ideally working across multiple enterprise agreements and awards. The successful person will also be able to demonstrate:
- An in-depth understanding of Dimensions and/or PayGlobal or similar or capacity to learn
- Ability to establish and maintain filing/record-keeping systems, databases and office systems and procedures
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Solid understanding of payroll and time and attendance processes
- Strong attention to details with an analytical approach
