**Introduction**:
You will play a key role in supporting the continuous improvement of Marand’s HSE Management System and driving a positive safety culture across our Geelong operations. This is a hands-on, diverse role that spans partnering with managers and supervisors, compliance, communication, training, and auditing. You’ll be based primarily at our Geelong site, with occasional travel to other Marand locations as needed.

**The role responsibilities include**:
- Maintain and improve Marand’s HSE Management System, including drafting and consulting on document changes and communicating updates.
- Partner with managers and supervisors to drive safety improvements and initiatives.
- Provide advice on safety related matters.
- Coordinate monthly HSE Committee meetings for Geelong, including agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
- Support internal and external HSE audits, including scheduling, conducting audits, and managing corrective actions.
- Manage incidents and injuries through Marand’s incident management system (Momentum), and work closely with the Return-to-Work Coordinator to support injured employees.
- Develop and deliver HSE training materials for staff and contractors to ensure safety compliance and maintain and track HSE training, licences, and permits in the competency register.
- Produce regular HSE performance reports covering incidents, audits, compliance, and actions.
- Actively participate in safety improvement initiatives and foster a positive safety culture within portfolio

**Required skills, experience and qualifications**:
You are passionate about improving workplace safety and environmental outcomes, working in collaboration with key leaders and stakeholders in the business.
You enjoy engaging with people at all levels and thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline (or working towards one).
- Experience in an HSE support, coordination, or similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of HSE systems, auditing, and compliance processes.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence using HSE software systems (Momentum experience desirable).
**Additional Requirements**:
Due to the nature of our work and the requirements of our customers, all applicants may be required to hold Australian citizenship and need to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and/or EAR (Export Administration Regulations) compliance as part of employment eligibility.
Successful applicants may also be required to undergo a current police check, obtain a Commonwealth defence security clearance, and participate in random drug and alcohol screening as part of our commitment to safety and security.
