**About the Role**

The MR F&C (Corporate Liability) team provides Public and Products Liability Insurance and Reinsurance solutions to large corporate and industrial clients on an Excess of Loss basis and on a primary insurance basis for MGA’s.

We have a broad risk appetite underwriting for most industry sectors including Automotive, Chemical, Construction, Food & Beverage, Mining, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Railway/transportation, Telecommunications, Power & Generation, State Government captives and Public Utilities.

You will report to the Underwriting Manager, F&C and your role will involve underwriting and servicing a national portfolio with daily broker contact, along with internal collaboration with other units within the Munich Re group. You will support the Senior Liability Underwriter and have regular weekly interaction with underwriting teams in London and Munich.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Underwrite and service a renewal book of single risk, third-party liability business within designated underwriting authority and selected risk appetite. The portfolio focuses on large, multi-national and industrial clients and SME / middle market risks through MGA’s
- Contribute to the development of the portfolio through front line, market facing activities with client and brokers, this includes interstate travel
- Collaborate with the broader Munich Re F&C team (Sydney, London, and Munich) to develop and enhance underwriting strategies and build resilience into the portfolio
- Support in portfolio assessment including accumulation management, pricing analysis and coverage reviews
- Proactively support the F&C Underwriting manager to deliver accurate and informative reports to the GLA Management, claims team and other stakeholders of local portfolio performance
- Ensure all underwriting processes and controls are followed and documented
- Attend external market presentations and industry events to remain up to date with legal/market developments concerning third-party liability class business

**Your Profile**
- Experience in liability underwriting (corporate or middle market) and/or corporate broking
- Ideally university degree, preferably in law or business studies and/or training as an insurance practitioner
- Flexibility and willingness to travel both interstate and internationally (including potential for extended overseas business trips) as required
- Confident and engaging manner with excellent negotiation and sales skills
- Experience in data analysis for digital underwriting platforms (SME or middle market business) is highly desirable
