**The Company**

With the manufacturing business expanding they are looking to add a Health, Safety & Environment Specialist to the team. Based in the Liverpool area this is a great opportunity to join an ASX listed business with strategic vision & supportive culture.
**The Role**
Reporting directly to the COO, the HSE Specialist you will be required to drive & strengthen the safety culture throughout the business. Your main responsibilities include:
- Oversee corporate safety practices, risk assessments, systems and procedures
- Manage and drive compliance and pro-active audits
- Administer education and compliance programs for employees, contractors and visitors
- Provide advice utilising sound knowledge of the WHS/OHS Act, regulations and relevant industry codes of practice
- Initiate and coordinate accredited training programs for occupational health and safety
- Support business with a ‘safety culture program’ driving a zero-harm outcome
- Provide direction to the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement adequate training
- Collect, analyse and disseminate key reporting metrics, identifying trends and focusing on corrective actions
- Ensure incidents are reported and investigated as appropriate with lessons learnt communicated, training developed and deployed and policies updated as required
- Develop well-being initiatives aligned with human factors
- Manage workers compensation claims and return to work program
- Environmental and sustainability initiatives
- Compliance with external and internal requirements
**Preferred Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or related discipline
- Experience in a manufacturing/engineering/logistics environment ideal
- High attention to detail
- Great rapport building, and communication skills
