**About the opportunity**
Bridging construction, health and design, the Health Infrastructure Health Planning Program is a dynamic, deeply rewarding and innovative program spanning 90+ hospital redevelopments across NSW. Designing a health facility is a complex process, requiring a highly iterative, multidisciplinary, and collaborative approach. The program supports project teams to connect clinicians, staff and consumers to develop, design and deliver quality, sustainable facilities that enable improved clinical outcomes. Project delivery teams engage with HI’s facility planners during early planning stages and at key project milestones to ensure that facility designs align with the clinical services plan, contemporary models of care, AusHFG and related benchmarks and guidance, and NSW Health policy and guidelines. The team supports projects in seeking opportunities for innovation in facility planning to optimise planning outcomes and make better use of operational budgets. The team also provides expert advice and support in the assessment of variations where departures from the AusHFG are proposed.
The Lead, Health Facility Planning is responsible for facilitating clinical, operational and spatial planning for all capital redevelopment projects across Health Infrastructure. The aim is to ensure facility design supports patient care and the staff delivering this care. The role partners with stakeholders to develop and evaluate planning and design documentation for all capital projects including the incorporation of lesson learned, design standardisation initiatives, expert clinical guidance, benchmarking and research. The role collaborates across the sector to deliver initiatives, including with the NSW Ministry of Health (MoH), Health Entities (HEs) and Industry planning and design partners to ensure the built environment supports safe, efficient and sustainable patient care.
Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW or be willing to relocate if appointed.
This recruitment may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future roles (ongoing or temporary) that may arise over the next 18 months.
**About you**
To succeed in this role, you will have experience in health planning working with multidisciplinary teams. You will have a detail-oriented approach to project and stakeholder management, to work with initiative, independently with competing priorities. Importantly, your commitment to project deliverables will be founded in ensuring public value and improved outcomes for the health of the NSW community.
**About us**
