Are you a skilled Desktop Publisher/Finished Artist with a keen eye for detail and a passion for multilingual typography and layout? We are on the hunt for a Desktop Publisher/Finished Artist to create and typeset in-language materials for an ongoing project.
- About the role

As **Desktop Publisher** you will be responsible for creating, formatting and typesetting translated documents across various languages, ensuring they meet quality standards and client specifications. You will work closely with our project management and language services teams to ensure that all materials are to a high standard and visually compelling.

This casual/freelance position offers flexible working arrangements, with hours available depending on the scope and timing of client briefs and projects.

**In this role you will**:

- Design and finalise a wide range of print and digital materials, ensuring all assets meet the highest quality standards.
- Develop and/or typeset translated content using software (e.g., Adobe InDesign - IDML, Illustrator, Photoshop) ensuring all documents are properly formatted and ready for production.
- Adapt and design materials in multiple languages, verify text, graphics, and formatting during the translation process ensuring cultural relevance and accuracy.
- Handle complex text formatting requirements such as Right to Left reading languages (e.g., Arabic, Hebrew), non-Latin scripts, and special characters.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to document layout and typesetting.
- Maintain and update templates and resources to enhance efficiency and consistency, and efficiently manage file organisation and version control.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to resolve any formatting or content discrepancies.
- Conduct thorough checks of formatting, layout, and style in all design work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Work closely with the language services and project management team to understand client requirements, deliver on client briefs and meet project deadlines.
- About you
- You bring a positive, passionate, solutions-focused attitude.
- You have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in desktop publishing, pre-press, finished artwork or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- You’re highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign (including IDML), - Illustrator, and Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
- Knowledge of translation project management processes and tools desirable.
- You have an exceptional eye for detail, ensuring all design work is of the highest quality.
- You’ve got demonstrated experience in creating and adapting design assets in multiple languages.
- You have an understanding of system fonts, print production, and preparation of files for delivery.
- You have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
