**The Company**
A steadily growing retail business that is using recent success to look at establishing a prominent logistics function in their distribution centre and lead and develop their two direct reports.

**The Role**

The objective of the Head of Logistics is to manage the entire order cycle as to enhance business development, achieve business goals and profit objectives, drive operational productivity and efficiency in all warehousing activities and strive for operational excellence for employees, stakeholders and customers.

The Head of Logistics has the overall responsibility for the supply chain management function via effective monitoring and storage of stock, timely and efficient transport operations, directing and optimising full order cycles, as well as supervising, coaching and developing the Logistics and Distribution Centre workforce.

With a strong focus on stakeholder collaboration, leadership and safety culture, the Head of Logistics will also develop, implement and drive a continuous improvement framework in processes, systems and change management, ensuring the chain of responsibility and all other internal and external compliance measures are met and maintained.

**Skills & Experience**
Warehouse management experience in a similar role along with 3 years of Logistics / Supply Chain Management.
- Demonstrated experience in Operation of DC’s, Warehouse Management and Ordering Systems, Fleet Management, Import/export legislation and compliance.
- Understanding and demonstrated ability in contract negotiation, operational management and account reviews, as well as a complete understanding of international logistics, direct sourcing and freight consolidation.
- A proven understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and ability to personalise to the businesses needs.
- Excellent communication skills with exceptional leadership and people management abilities
- Proven success developing teams and making tangible improvements to operational processes and systems
