LOADING OPERATOR

Due to a surge in food demands, a vacancy has become available to join a high functioning Logistics team based in Wollongong.

About the position:

- 35 hour working week
- Casual position
- $38+ per hour

You will be responsible to ensure the safe transfer and deliveries of all grains, oils and feeds are completed. You will oversee rail and truck unloading and ensure the area remains clean and functioning, ensure the wharf remains clean and free from dust and grain build up, May be required to operate grain pouring/loading plant and equipment using remote controller. Access ships via gangways to collect grain levels and operate the pouring system.

Additional tasks will include the following:

- Ensure a dust free environment and free moving conveyor and silo mechanisms - operate compressed air to clean conveyors and other areas where grain dust gathers.
- Sweep and shovel spilled grain into bags or bins.
- Move filled bags to waste areas as required
- Weighbridge operation when required
- Spotting assistance for automated loading of liquid tanks
- May be required to enter a confined space to carry out work
- General clean up duties

To be considered for this position, you will possess the following:

- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Possess exceptional communication and problem solving skills
- Enjoy working in a fast pace environment (indoors and out)
- Safety conscious
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Desirables are:

- Operate Forklift (4 tonne) and EWP if licensed and authorized,
- If unlicensed, may be required to accompany a licensed EWP operator in the bucket to perform cleaning of components high up with compressed air etc.
- Operate front end loader if trained, competent
