**About the role**
The City of Greater Geelong is undertaking the Future Ways of Working Program, an evidence-based organisation design program, which will review and enhance how we work together and design our organisation for the future. We're doing this to create a place that serves our community in the best possible way as our region grows and develops. Our direction will be led by our people. The program team will design our future state by researching and engaging across the organisation to discover our employees’ aspirations for our City.
As a key member of the Transformation Office, the Business Process Improvement Specialist will be provided with strategic direction to enable implementation of project initiatives for the City’s Future Ways of Working Program, whilst also providing hands on assistance with project management & delivery, facilitating workshops, current and future state process mapping and requirements gathering, as well as benefits management planning and tracking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the City’s business units to review work processes and identify improvements using Business Process Improvement principles and techniques whilst undertaking organisation design changes.
- Facilitate workshops with staff to understand and produce end to end current state process maps, whilst building the future state requirements
- Produce quality, meaningful and integrated process maps.
- Capture and document business and Council Processes in a central shared repository
- Assist with and in some instances, Project manage and deliver key Future Ways of Working activities
- Work with the City’s Transformation team to understand the Program’s Change approach
- Develop internal & external relationships with key stakeholders across the program and business
- Build on internal stakeholder relationships by developing a partnership model, to embed organisational design changes, within the City’s various business units.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of experience in related disciplines such as business management, improvement methodologies, change or project management.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in the provision of expert and high-quality advice and recommendations to senior management, facilitation of continuous improvement workshops, and engaging staff with process and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating and developing end to end process maps
