**The Role**:
Are you a UX specialist, with a strong understanding of design thinking, a start up mindset, and excellent communication skills?

We are seeking an experienced US Designer to support demand spikes and emerging priorities.

You will design digital initiatives with various units across the Department, working in a cross-functional team on digital projects to understand business goals/requirements, identify opportunities and advise the business on which opportunities to pursue. This role will also involve developing meaningful solutions using design thinking / lean start-up methodology and tools whilst de-risking opportunities by designing experiments to test a project's riskiest assumptions.

**VPS5 Equivalent Rate | Six month contract - potential to extend**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with business analysts, product managers and technical team
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
- Create prototypes for new product ideas
- Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
- Develop technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centred solutions
- Conduct ongoing user research

**About You**:

- 4+ years UI/UX design experience for digital products or services
- Proven ability leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast paced environment
- Strong presentation, communication (written and verbal) skills, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks within a collaborative team environment
- Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills and the proven use of initiative in solving problems, including knowledge and experience in defining, implementing, and enhancing business process
- Experience working in the project ideation and discovery phase
- Ability to review and analyse the business in terms of its business services, business processes, and to assist the business in identifying the best ways to effect business change to achieve business goals
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, including taking initiative, providing regular updates on your work, seeking and providing support as required
