**OVERVIEW**

Allship Engineering are seeking a Mechanical isolations Coordinator for work primarily in the Henderson at the Australian Maritime Complex Common User Facility (AMCCUF), WA. Other work locations in the region include Fremantle & Rockingham. As a Mechanical Isolations Coordinator, you are required to travel interstate up to 12 weeks of the year, for periods no more than 4 weeks at a time.

Mechanical Isolations Coordinators are responsible for eliminating the need to work on mechanical equipment on Naval vessels during maintenance periods. In this role, you will gain knowledge of ship systems such as Ballast, Fuel, Air, Oil, power plants, and how to manage and isolate them. The team works collectively with Prime Contractors, Navy Engineering staff, and Contractors to ensure maintenance is conducted in a safe manner. You will be working with a team of both Mechanical and Electrical Tradespeople who have numerous years of knowledge and experience in this role and will help you to gain the knowledge required to fulfill your role in the team.

**Salary**:_**120-140k plus Super**_
- Overtime & penalty rates offered outside of your contracted work hours._

**Work Hours**: Min 40 hrs up to a maximum of 50 hrs per week (Mon-Fri).

**Leave**: Entitlements IAW the National Employment Standards **plus an additional 30 days** of annual leave per year, taken at a time negotiated and approved with management to ensure project requirements are fulfilled.

When travelling outside of your primary work location for work purposes, you will be paid reasonable amounts for travel expenses IAW the most recent Australian Taxation Office Tax Determination. In the first instance, flights and accommodation will be organised and paid for by the company.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- In conjunction with the system/equipment owner, confirm mechanical isolation requirements
- Understand testing procedures and be competent in the use of testing equipment
- Assess and approve all activities where hazardous energy may be present and issue permit to work
- Attend the worksite and verify all isolations are complete
- Assess isolation plans and add/remove/modify plans to ensure integrity and safety of isolation configurations
- Manage electronic and manual danger tagging systems as per Client policy and procedure
- Conduct inspections post de-isolation to ensure marine systems are returned to operational and/or desired system configuration/s
- Conduct equipment and marine system inspections
- Attend Critical Risk meetings as the company representative as directed
- Liaise with client to prioritise scheduling of isolations as directed
- At all times, do all that is reasonably practicable to ensure your own safety, and the safety of people around you.

**QUALIFICATIONS (essential & desirable)**
- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (MEM30205) or higher (Essential)
- Construction white card (Essential)
- C class driver’s licence (Essential)
- RIIWHS202E - Enter and work in confined spaces (Desirable)
- RIIRIS201E - Conduct local risk control (Desirable)
- MSMWHS201 - Conduct hazard analysis (Desirable)
- MSMWHS217 - Gas test atmospheres (Desirable)
- MSMPER200 - Work in accordance with an issued permit (Desirable)
- MSMPER300 - Issue work permits (Desirable)
- UETDRMP007 - Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel (Desirable).

**PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- 4 years’ experience in a Marine Trade
- Ability to self-regulate your own emotions to achieve a positive outcome
- Ability to read people and groups accurately, and respond in a personable and empathetic manner
- Ability to interact with others constructively to achieve a positive outcome
- Ability to communicate and interact differently across a diverse group of people and situations
- Ability to read, understand, interpret Repair Specifications, Work Instruction and Repair Plans
- Ability to read, understand and complete Risk Assessment Tools
- Ability to read, understand and complete Inductions and Safety questionnaires
- Ability to read and understand engineering schematics/drawings
- Physical ability to climb ladders and stairwells as is required in marine sites
- Basic computer skills such as using Microsoft 365.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
