**The Role**
Our Team provides workforce management resources to support a professional, highly skilled and committed commercial workforce.
We recognise that it is the quality and depth of our workforce that delivers on current business objectives and improves business performance to position us for the future. Through active stakeholder engagement we implement a range of attraction, engagement, upskilling and retention strategies for Commercial Division. We provide commercial and procurement professionalisation to develop careers and build Defence people capability facilitating learning through experience, exposure and education opportunities to build and sustain commercial acumen across Defence.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Defence's approach to workforce planning and learning and development within Commercial Division. A high degree of engagement with a diverse stakeholder cohort is required to shape the commercial workforce and ensure that the organisation has the right people, with the right skills at the right time to deliver capability to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

Key responsibilities for the EL 1 Learning and Development Manager role include:

- Develop and implement commercial professionalisation across Defence. This involves implementing innovative learning opportunities across the experience, exposure, and education spectrum to meet diverse proficiency levels and aligned to the Commercial Capability Framework.
- Understand the strategic objectives of the business and lead and manage stakeholders to establish and monitor best practice learning and development solutions in the context of the Defence environment.
- Engage and influence stakeholders to shape and implement learning and development strategy, policy, products and programs.
