The Head of Procurement and Supply Chain will play a crucial role in developing and executing the procurement and supply chain strategy for our rail business. This position is essential in ensuring effective sourcing, contract management, supplier relationships, inventory control, and logistics management, all aimed at delivering high-quality rail products and services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Leadership**:Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement and supply chain strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives, focusing on cost optimization, risk management, and sustainability.
- **Procurement Management**:Oversee all procurement activities and provide expert advice to key stakeholders on sourcing, negotiation, and contract management for rail operations. Ensure a standardized approach while driving improvements and efficiencies in procurement processes.
- **Supplier Management**:Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- **Inventory and Logistics**:Lead and oversee inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize working capital requirements.
- **Team Leadership**:Manage and mentor a team of procurement and supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
- **Cost Control**:Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and process optimization.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, finance, and project management teams, to align procurement and supply chain strategies with overall business goals.
- **Performance Monitoring**:Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement and supply chain initiatives.

Key Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the rail or transport industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Proven experience managing complex supply chains with multiple suppliers and stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, tied with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to rail operations and procurement.
