**Key responsibilities**
- Plan, direct and manage administrative staff and work practices in the Secretariat to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, working as part of a team.
- Manage the financial resources of the Commission using strategic planning and budget processes including the formulation, analysis and control of a budget and preparation of financial reports.
- Arrange Commission meetings, formulate agenda and take minutes with a high level of legal content.
- Prepare reports on the Commission’s activities associated with position assessments, financial statements, asset stocktakes, occupational health and safety reports and other matters as required.
- Make recommendations on a range of functions including business operations, office equipment, a small computer network, IT support and Human Resource processes.
- Knowledge of or proven ability to manage an Electronic Document Records Management System (eDOCS).
- Display a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to negotiate and consult with people at all levels including members of the judiciary, representatives of legal organisations, legal practitioners, representatives of other law reform agencies, senior government officers and members of the public on Commission matters.
- Process and disseminate the Commission’s publications and oversee the maintenance of a legal library, including record keeping processes.
- Manage small projects and conduct research and analysis covering a broad range of policy and operational areas into matters affecting the Commission.
